Do-It-Yourself Rain Barrel Faucet
You can capture the rain water that falls on your roof during a rainstorm and use it to water your plants and gardens with the Do-It-Yourself Rain Barrel Faucet. Rain water is a priceless method to water your plants, flowers, lawn and fish ponds. It’s actually better to use on your plants than tap water that is chlorinated.
You just need a standard 35 gallon plastic trash can or barrel (not provided). Avoid using steel barrels because weight alot and are susceptible to rust.
Make a hole 16″ from the bottom of the trash can using a 1 1/2″ hole saw. The rain barrel kit comes with one 3 1/2″ reverse thread black plastic bulkhead and one 3/4″ outdoor grade Sediment Faucet. Attach the 3/4″ female garden hose thread garden hose to your outdoor grade Sediment Faucet.
The rain barrel can be filled entirely in a couple of minutes during a rainstorm.
